As a kid, I grew up with what I can only describe as a transitional era for cartoon network during the early to mid 2010s, shows that would later go on to be modern staples for the network such as Adventure Time or The Amazing World of Gumball's first seasons were starting to air however, there would still be reruns of more 1990s-2000s oriented cartoons. The ones I watched were classics such as Courage the Cowardly Dog, Camp Lazlo and the one most important for the first part of this shrine, Craig McCracken's second cartoon network show: Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends.

I don't exactly remember how it happened, but I was instantly obsessed with FHFIF, I'd try to catch any episode that was airing while I could, which was quite difficult at the time as it would always air really late or early atleast for me to be able to watch it on cable. Another way I would view FHFIF at the time as a dumb goo goo ga ga child with no knowledge of pirating was to of course, search through youtube and try and find any clips or episode reuploads I could find the old fashioned way. I would later outgrow my obsession in focus of other things but that interest in FHFIF never went away.

After a while I started growing interest in watching cartoons via cable/tv channels so I started drifting away from watching anything that was really airing throughout the time, so unfortunately it actually took a while for me to learn/realize Craig McCracken's next work after FHFIF, Wander Over Yonder and even more for me to finally give it a shot and binge the entire series just recently. I did however actually hear the news of the most latest CMCC work which was, Kid Cosmic, set to release on netflix. While I still wasn't interested in really watching shows at the time, this actually peaked my interest, especially since I've been having on and off hyperfixations on FHFIF so when the series's first season came out, I watched it all immediately via a pirating website and I loved the show. However... unfortunately just like WOY, I did not watch the 2 remaining seasons that came out until recently, I thing a now regret considering Kid Cosmic and Wander Over Yonder are definitely both the more superior and better of Craig's work.

When I was younger, I used to watch a whole lot of early cartoon network cartoons which included reruns of early 2000s cartoon network shows, one obviously being Fosters Home For Imaginary Friends, out of all the other older cartoons, FHFIF was my absolute favourite.

My unfortunate predicament however, was that FHFIF episodes would air super late in my timezone, around 11 am or so, and back in the household I lived in/with, I had to go to bed the earliest, so I missed out on a lot of episodes I would've wanted to watch. So, what was my solution to this as a probably 6 to 8 year old? Being an ipad baby.

For whatever accursed reason (I know the reason), I was gifted an ipad very early in my childhood and the main app I would use every single time on that ipad was youtube. So when I gained the sudden ability to think "wait a minute, how about I watch FHFIF on youtube?" I went searching. Turns out from what I can remember, I didn't have much luck finding FHFIF episodes at the time, and with the inability to know what a piracy site was, I was back to square one... but the thing is, IT DIDN'T MATTER ANYWAYS CAUSE I ONLY WANTED TO WATCH WILT CLIPS!

When I was younger (and honestly to this day), I would attach myself to one character from the cast of a cartoon to fixate on, other examples being Zane from Ninjago and Marvin from Looney tunes, specifically Marvin from the Looney tunes show. For FHFIF, it was Wilt. It's honestly not that crazy seeing as Wilt is an obvious fan favourite and most likable character from the main cast, but I was addicted.

I would only want to watch Wilt clips or episodes, when I figured out how to expand my online horizons to other sites like DeviantART or Fanfiction.net, I would search for exclusively Wilt centric fan works. A story that made my friend laugh was how on the night of the New Years, I stayed up from midnight to 5 am just repeatedly looping and watching the moment in the TV special "Good Wilt Hunting" where Wilt is helping his kid in the past (Micheal Jordan btw, real and true) win against a bully and his imaginary friend in a basketball match while juxtapoised with his current rematch with said imaginary friend, and it shows how his arm and eye get damaged. I was so mesmerized I took millions of screenshots of the moment til my dad came in my room and told me to go to bed.
